Active Kids & Art Night

Usually I spend my afternoons taking the kids to their various separate activities. For Toby its whatever seasonal sport that's going on (currently soccer & track) and cub scouts. For Arielle its gymnastics and piano lessons. But I really try to leave free time for them to just play around with each other and I love days like today when they were skateboarding outside together. Arielle is usually such a "girly girl", but she also idolizes her brother- so she's recently taken up skateboarding!

Tonight was the kids' "Art Festival" at school. Arielle's grade sang some really cute songs & then we walked around the halls and saw the kids' projects. Toby's class made a big snake with a "team spirit" theme. Toby made a head of the snake- its actually not the one he's pointing to, but the head that is higher up & diamond shaped w/big eyes- it was COOL! Then Arielle's whole hall was an "outer space" theme. It was a cool black background w/ neon paints. Arielle made an AWESOME alien.

Easter & Things & Stuff

The kids & I took a quick trip to my parents for Easter weekend. Jim had to work, so he stayed home and played bachelor. It was a really fun, quick trip. My Aunt Diane & her family were in town from FL so it was really cool to see them. We fit in an Easter egg hunt, hot tubbing, trip to the "spinning" park and lots of eating and relaxing. March has been so busy with Arielle's 8th BD party at the Bear Mill earlier this month, then the kids Spring Break (CA trip), SLC trip for Easter and now Arielle's baptism next week!

Back At It

As some of you know, we tried this "blog thing" once already and accidentally deleted it within a week. Now we're back at it. 2008 is off & running! I'll try to give a quick run down: January was pretty mellow & a recovery from the holidays. February brought SNOW to St. George and a fun Valentine's Day. The 5th grade had an etiquette dance where the boys dressed up and served the girls dessert, then the whole grade line danced. Toby was such a cute gentleman! In March we had a great trip to CA, spent some time in Disneyland and Huntington Beach- it was wonderful, perfect weather. Arielle is so extreme- her favorite rides are CA Screaming & Tower of Terror!
