Wow- seems like I just posted yesterday but its been a month! June has been action packed, even more so than usual (and for us that's saying ALOT 'cause we're always on the go!) We really wanted to take advantage of everything around us in Utah before we move to North Carolina next month. This month we took a little Vegas trip, stayed at Worldmark and enjoyed the lazy river, Coke Store, M & M store & Silverton Aquarium. The kids also did Utah Summer Games where they each took home a gold medal for 4 X 100 Relay. Next we took off for Salt Lake to say bye to friends & family. Mom & Meg organized a wonderful Bunko reunion with my girlfriends. We did a "favorite things party" where we each brought 5 of our 1 favorite item and exchanged..lip balms, photo frames, room sprays, bath & body works, cookies, candy, herbs...all kinds of little goodies. We stayed up late talking and catching up. We also went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House (beautiful!!) and made a Lagoon trip with the kids' best friends. We went to Buca Di Beppo with my family and enjoyed a couple walks & bike rides around Oquirrh Lake in Daybreak. I even fit in a 5k (Herriman's Step Rock n' Roll) while we were up there. The day after our Salt Lake Trip we had a fun family night with The Greens & Wilkinsons at Sand Hollow Reservoir. The kids had a blast riding on the tube behind the Greens boat and playing in the water until the sun set. The ladies chatted and tried to resist all the wonderful homemade goodies (I didn't do too good in that department ) My work team took a little trip to Fremont Indian State Park where we had a good time hiking & learning about Native American culture/history. OK- so it was ridiculous how much stuff we've done in June!! Beginning in July, I will no longer be working for the State of Utah, just spending time with the kids, packing and getting ready to move! We will be adjusting from 2 incomes to none!! Can you say HELLO student loans? I will try to get a PT job established once we get settled in NC. I think I'm actually ready for things to slow down a bit...after the move of course!

Arielle's First Horse Show!

Today Arielle rode in her first horse show. She was a bit nervous because it was an English show and even though she's been taking lessons for 4 months, she's only rode English a few times. I was impressed at how much control she had over the horse when she did the "Hurry Scurry", "Barrels" and "Jumps". She did awesome and took home 2, 2nd place and 2, 3rd place ribbons.

May Recap Time! Track, Bryce Canyon, Birthday

More of the BD party, thought this pic was hilarious!!

Time to recap May. What a great month its been, last month of school and all the wonderful chaos that entails! Arielle had a 3rd grade dance performance, Toby had a choir concert, both kids had track meets galore. End of April we celebrated my birthday which Scott, Crystal & fam came down for- what a good goofy time we had eating cake, going to the park & flying a kite. In May Julie & Steve took us on a ATV tour in Bryce Canyon. End of May we also took a quick trip to Vegas with Dad and layed out at the pools at Worldmark all day. It was delightful, too bad I don't have pics. Sloans also came to visit us over Memorial Day and we did a SWEET hike through some water up at Red Cliffs. We figure that hike gives us bragging rights. Wish I had pics of that too. What a wonderful month we've had. Trying to relish every bit of family & St. George before we move!

Easter, "Variety Show", Moonwalking, Beautiful Zion's, Soccer!

April recap time! So much to report!
Toby playing soccer on beautiful Pineview High field (there is a beautiful panaramic view from that field) Toby is having a blast, 4th season on Dixie Fire!

Zion's! We had a wonderful mini vacation to Zion's this past weekend. Wow- the park was busy! We were still able to find some solitude on the trails. The weather could not have been more perfect!

Upper Emerald Pools. Toby's getting as tall as me! I guess I really need to stand up "tall" in family pictures now!

Toby contemplating at "the pool"

"Arielle, don't get your shoes wet"...Yah, right

Tough Guys

Ok, so confession time...this Zion's mini vacation was kinda planned around a run! Gorgeous 10k through Zion's to celebrate their Centennial. Here's my running buddies! Love these gals! (Missed Heather, Buff & Stephanie!)

Right after the race, hence the red face. They gave out cool medals!

Toby & Seth "MCing" the Primary Variety Show

Seth & Toby also played a musical number, here they are with all their groupies!

Time for 80's flashbacks! One day after church we were goofing around and started teaching the kids to Moonwalk! I know you're digging those blue socks. They were a present from Lybster, love 'em!

Notice Jim's pointer- this is a very serious part of the lesson

Jim decided to throw in some robot man moves

Easter Morning. It was weird not being with family this Easter. We had a nice, quiet holiday- but missed everyone!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt (Kylee & Arielle)

Sara! Thanks to Des & Sara for planning the Egg Hunt. The party went on, despite the rain.

Rainy Egg Hunt, still tons of fun. Toby & Jim were at Toby's soccer game.

Silly Girl

Toby's taking a Home Economics class at school which he loves! On this day he decided to make a Strawberry Smoothie for us that he learned in class. (Yah, Jim looks awesome in this pic)

My Boy Scout

Toby earned his Tenderfoot at a court of honor at the park last week. Here he is pictured with Brother Patterson. He is always teasing the boys and playing around with them. Toby remembers coming home from a campout and Bro. Patterson ran over a diamond back snake, then proceeded to get out of the car and remove the rattle for a keepsake. Yeah, he's one of those crazy, fun leaders! He seems to have boundless energy and patience for the boys. Thank goodness for men like him. Here's what Toby had to learn to get his Tenderfoot:

basic overnight camping skills, first aid and how to take care of the flag (these are just a few). The campouts are Toby's favorite part of scouting!

ALS 5k 2009

Here's a slideshow of our ALS 5k. It was a wonderful success! We had over 130 runners registered for the 5k and many 1k participants also. The bounce house and cow train were a hit. the location was great, nice park & beautiful scenery. The course had a bit of an up hill finish, but runners seemed to be OK with the challenge. We had a fun post race raffle and gave out LOTS of gift certicates to the running store, Bajio's mexican restaurant, Tuachan and Road ID. Now after helping organize a race I understand how much work it is. I'll never take it for granted again when I run races! It was a pleasure meeting the Littles, they have become great friends through this experience. Our sponsors & timers were wonderful too!! Thanks to everyone who made this day a success and helped us find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease!
